America, where are you? All these 'strict constructionists,' 'originalists,' 'textualists,' who swear the just LOVE the Constitution have no idea what it says.

"A well Regulated militia..."

Here's what the Constitution says, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 15 & 16:

"[The Congress shall have power] To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions;

To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the militia, and for governing such part of them as may be employed in the service of the United States, reserving to the states respectively, the appointment of the officers, and the authority of training the militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;"

That's it, A WELL R E G U L A T E D MILITIA. It's all about REGULATIONS. It is NOT about the 'rights' of some mad young cowboys running around the streets with sub-machine guns that they just bought 'legally' at the local gun shop!
