Another missed opportunity. Perhaps the biggest one of all. The election was over. Gen Z voters supported Democrats bigly, Blacks and Blues all came home once again to put down another Republicon insurrection. All the parts of the puzzle were in place to make a Democratic statement: We are for the middle-class, for the Unions of the People; money is not Speech and for-profit Corporation are not people.

We had it in our grasp to say: Enough! Capitalism is an economic system, but it must not be a political one. The Constitution gave the power to the people to Promote the General Welfare. To form a more perfect union. Republicons showed us who they are. Democrats had the opportunity to show America who we are, and unfortunately the Dark Side of Democrats showed just that.

FDR 2.0? If our democratic republic survives, we'll have to wait for those Gen Z'ers, if they're still with us, to change America for the better. Biden and I may not be around to see it. But my old liberal heart can only hope it will come to pass before I do.
