Calm down, please. I’m far more critical of Democrats, as one myself, than I am of Republicans, of whom criticism is futile. Nothing will change unless and until our dysfunctional duopoly is replaced with real choices offered by candidates who represent real people, not corporate profiteers.
I don’t see that on the horizon. I see Jan 6 as a missed opportunity to change our system of self-governance once and for all. Biden should have/could have led us but didn't/couldn't.
Dems missed the mark on the first impeachment; should have been ‘Bribery,’ as clearly mentioned in the Constitution, instead of mealy-mouthed Obstruction of Congress.
They blew it again on the second impeachment. They knew they didn’t have the votes to impeach again but they went for it anyway and failed, making Trump stronger. If you strike at the king, make sure you do not fail.
They should have simply invoked the 14th Amendment Section 3. By a simple majority they could have disqualified Trump – and all the insurrectionists – from ever holding office again. Perfectly legal, and it could only be reversed by 2/3 of both houses of Congress, an improbability. But that would require both strategy and balls. Both of which are sorely lacking in the “democratic” party.
