DeSantis's liability is that he is DeSantis, not Trump.

Trump has charisma, DeSantis has none.

Trump has a cult following, DeSantis has none.

Trump can rile-up his base, DeSantis may also rile-up the MAGA base but in doing so they both rile-up the Dem base against them. Hillary won 3 million votes more than Trump, Biden won 8 million votes more than Trump. If DeSantis is the new Trump, the Democrat, whoever, may win by twice that yet again. I, and every Democrat I know, would crawl over broken glass to vote against either one of these wannabe dictators.
