Exactly.

The Old Testament is about rules and retribution, an eye for an eye, authority, and damnation. The New Testament is about love, peace, forgiveness and turning the other cheek. The irony, of course, is the New Testament is much harder to live by than the Old. It’s been said that Christianity has never actually been tried.

It does not surprise me that Evangelicals want to see Moses’ Ten Commandments posted in every school and government building but mention Jesus’ Beatitudes and they recoil, and reject is as 'woke.'
