His MOST notable movie was, "It's A Gift." Fields fan forever, I first saw it as a kid, I watch it now from time to time and still bust-up. The back porch scene was featured as an intermission between Rock acts at the old Filmore East in NYC. It's a classic not to be missed.
I own every Fields film and short on DVD. He was the greatest. I understand that he was so powerful in 1930's Hollywood that he saved many careers and was highly respected.
