I am neither in the ‘blame America first’ camp nor the ‘America is always right’ camp, but please explain how America is more at fault than Putin. Note that I equate Russia with Putin in a way that America cannot be equated with any one president. America and Russia are not fungible. You stated in an earlier article that Stalin rigged elections in Eastern European countries. Where is the analogy with the United States? I know our hands are not entirely clean in the battle against world totalitarianism, but at least our purported hegemony is ostensibly pro-democracy.

I do not see a moral equivalency between Russia and America.
