I don't dispute what you wrote. Jesus taught a new way of thinking, a new way of living that transcended the Old Testament. Jesus's way is not easy, in fact it is nearly impossible today as a practical way of life.

Remember the New Testament story of the wealthy young lad who though Jesus was 'the bomb' in today's parlance. He wanted to follow the Lord and Jesus told him to give his possessions to the poor and follow him. He wouldn't, he couldn't do it.

True, my statement about the Beatitudes is really about Jesus's lessons on how to live a blessed life. One then has to question oneself how they can resolve the lessons in today's world.

The teachings belong to Jesus. The philosophy belongs to us.
