I don’t pretend to understand the physics, but I very much admire a scientist who does not preclude the possibility of his own errors. What so many laypeople misunderstand about science – either surreptitiously or through ignorance – is that it must be falsifiable to be credible. Witness the current Covid controversies.

From a nonscientist’s perspective, something seems to be fundamentally missing in our understanding of gravity. As the debate rages on to find the connection between quantum mechanics and relativity, I cannot help but think it’s probably something so obvious as to someday engender a “well, duh,” response. Until then, I’ll sit back in my armchair and enjoy the show.
