I first heard the name 'Phyrne' watching "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries," a 10-year-old Australian tv show. I looked up the strange name and better understood the show. A thoroughly modern woman detective set in the man's world of the 1920's. Ahead of her time, liberated, not afraid of sex.
