I hope to Zeus, Ossoff and Warnock win. Should one or both lose, McConnell will rule Congress as he ruled it against Obama. Nothing will change. Steve Schmidt has correctly renamed the Republican Party the Autocratic Party. But I have a dream: The Lincoln Project may form the Lincoln Party within the Senate of not only moderate Republicans [read, “Never Trump”ers] but also moderate Democrats [read, “Never Defund the Police”]. Such a vestige of only a few brave souls would be enough to appropriate the Senate Majority Leader title away from McConnell and bestow upon whomever they decide to caucus with. That vestige could actually seed a viable third party of moderates and breath new life into our moribund duopoly.
