If our universe began with a singularity and is now expanding exponentially, where was that singularity in the first place and where is the edge of our universe now? What was before and what is beyond?

If our universe ends in Heat Death and energy is matter, then one can assume that when all energy dissipates so all matter must disappear. What started as a Big Bang may end in a Big Poof!

But if neither energy nor matter can be created or destroyed, then one must presume that they were never created and that they will never be destroyed.

Regardless of the laws of physics which even this article hints may be ultimately fungible, and quantum mechanics which are primarily flummoxing, perhaps Occam had the right idea. Perhaps the universe is simply eternal in time and infinite in space. Perhaps, but probably, we will never know.
