I've been saying this and posting this for years and years. The Republican Party is intrinsically the party of, by, and for white heterosexual Christian supremacy. Everything else flows from that. Trump is the culmination, not the cause.

Spoiler alert: I fully admit, historically this used to be the doctrine of the Democratic Party. The metamorphosis began under FDR and has been evolving ever since. Republicans, conversely, have been devolving. Such is our binary adversarial duopoly.

The future is ours to choose which paradigm shall prevail.
