Jesus Christ! [Pun intended.] How can you have contemplated the universe without discovering Einstein’s god [aka Spinoza’s god]? Spinoza’s god is nature; eternal and infinite, one substance acting out of the necessity of its own nature to act. Beyond consciousness, beyond purpose. It was not created; it did not create. It simply exists because it must exist.
Spinoza rejected all religions as superstition and rejected all isms as irrational. Spinoza rejected ethics based upon anything outside of ourselves. There is no good, there is no evil. Spinoza was not an atheist, nor a pantheist. Spinoza offers no purpose for existence, but neither is he bothered by that. We all exist in the nature of one infinite and eternal dynamic universe and that can be comfort enough. For me, it is.
Deus sive Natura.
