Just to follow up on my sarcasm. Age is not necessarily the issue, whether naivete or senility. Circumspection is. People of average intelligence should be capable of self-criticism, of empathy, of questioning themselves before they judge others. Our education system may teach WHAT to think, but it certainly doesn't teach HOW to think. That, in my humble opinion, is the problem.
