Liberals tend to “eat their own” as LBJ famously said. So here goes: Biden screwed up Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Gaza, big time. He screwed up the southern border even bigger. But he strengthened NATO and our Pacific partners and treated our America’s allies with respect. He never got any “love letters” from Kim, or Putin, or Xi for that matter, and for good reason. They are adversaries who want to destroy us.

He passed the American Rescue Plan, the Infrastructure Jobs Act, the Inflation Reduction Act [which ultimately brought down inflation – too little, too late], the CHIPS and Science Act, and the veterans PACT Act. All were monumental achievements of which Trump will reap the benefits, and no doubt claim them as his own. Biden left America’s economy the envy of the western world, but Americans weren’t feeling it, because . . . eggs!

Biden, Mr. Empathy, did a disastrous job of connecting with average Americans, epitomized by his failure to visit the East Palestine, Ohio, toxic train disaster. Trump connects with average people regardless of his affinity for billionaires. You could call that a gift, I call it a con job. I lived in NYC in the early Trump years, to quote Bloomberg: “We New Yorkers know a con man when we see one.” If he pulls it off as a legitimate success, I’ll give him that credit because he'll have earned it.

But Trump ruined America’s most precious legacy: The peaceful transfer of power for over two centuries. And please don’t try to ludicrously argue that “Trump won” in 2020. Pardoning 1500 convicted insurrectionists who tried to nullify more than 81 million votes at his behest, including my vote, is something that should never be forgotten or forgiven.
