Spinoza said that consciousness is the ‘idea of the body.’ Humans are the epitome of conatus [striving] and so are the epitome of consciousness. But since the universe itself is the repository of all conatus, is the universe itself not the repository of all consciousness? Humans cannot derive consciousness from themselves, they can only derive consciousness from God [Nature]. See the above quote.

Therefore, it follows that Nature [God] is conscious.
