My experience has demonstrated this to be significant. I have had many conversations with people who've given up on church affiliated religions due to hyper partisanship or simply religious dogmatism. People today are more freethinkers and profoundly spiritualistic. They want to be good people without being condemned to hell if they think outside of the box. They don't know if there is a God but believe there is a purpose to life, even if they don't know what it is.
