My liberal heart bleeds.

Maybe if Russia didn’t have such a history as a warmongering nation it could trade in peace with other seafaring nations. Peaceful landlocked nations don’t seem to have this problem, and peaceful Canada has a similar geography as Russia and they certainly don’t make war to control warm water ports.

The problem is not geography or ice or frozen ports. The problem is Russian 'leadership' who pursue their history of war to solve problems and ignore the fact that war never really solves problems. It only leads to more war and to more problems.

Those who do not learn from history… well, you know the rest.
