My takeaway from this article is that black men have truly “arrived.” Nothing says more of the delicate sensibilities of “toxic masculinity” than men – white, now black – bemoaning the power of powerful women. From Limbaugh’s “feminazis” of yesteryear and Hillary mocked for shedding a single campaign tear in 2008 to the take down of the current presumptive Democratic VP – no matter which woman would have been chosen. But truly strong men don’t fear strong women, they see them as partners and projections of their own inner strengths. Franklin and Eleanor immediately come to mind. So, tighten up your jockstrap, black men, and join your white brothers – the enlightened ones of whom not only reserve for our sisters an equal place at the table but also make sure that their dinner plates are just as satisfying.
