Points well taken. I would however also point out that Dylan was the 'deity' who lifted up Lennon. When John first met Dylan, John said he was embarrassed by his own lyrics and determined to do better. And so, he did.

Hard to argue against deifying Dylan, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2016. I am still stunned into awed silence whenever I read and see his 1963 Newport Folk Festival, "North Country Blues." How a 22-year-old could express those lyrics is nothing less than pure genius.
