SCOTUS can be reformed without an impossible constitutional amendment, through simple legislation. Amend the Judiciary Act of 1869. Expand the Court to 13, a traditional jury of 12 plus 1 to break ties. Appoint 4 progressives. Limit the Chief Justice to one 8-year term. Congress created that office - not the Constitution. Congress can also legislate SCOTUS ethics, i.e., "good behavior."

All of this is doable with a Democratic majority in Congress. If only they had the courage.
