Wars are truly hell on earth. From ancient times to modern, I cannot fathom the thirst for war. The atom bombs used upon Japan were but firecrackers compared to today’s hydrogen mega-monsters. Their only use is to make sure no one ever uses them.
I fear that as Hiroshima and Nagasaki fade into the history books, our own war-hawks [read: chicken-hawks] will someday push the nuclear buttons from their armchairs, but when that day comes, no one will be safely far away from the action.
Einstein reportedly shared this sentiment: "I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
