This seems to be in line with Spinoza’s metaphysics of “conatus,” or matter, whether animate or inanimate, striving for its own good. All things that are, are in Natura. Man’s consciousness is therefore derived from Natura and so it follows that Natura itself is infinite consciousness, or what Spinoza called the “infinite intellect,” i.e., Spinozist panpsychism.
