I told you. Scientists don’t know what they’re talking about.” False equivalencies, misinformation and conspiracies ensue.

Scientific theory is MEANT to be falsifiable. I, too, am disappointed when I hear Tyson and others who know better repeat that science is “true.” Surely, Tyson has read Popper. Science cannot be based upon truth [Pilate: “What is truth?”]; it must be based upon the best facts known at the time. Facts require some proof. Truth implies faith, and faith requires no proof at all.
