Tonight, unfortunately, Trump gets the last word. If the debate goes badly for him, I think he’ll use that last word to announce his running mate, and once again steal the spotlight. Come Friday, the media will talk about Trump’s veep, and the debate will be old news.

It won’t be Rubio. Dems would have a field day running ads of Rubio humiliating Trump relentlessly in 2016.

It won’t be Vance. He’s much more intelligent and articulate than Trump and would steal the spotlight from Trump’s big announcement. Automatic disqualification.

It will be Burgum. A billionaire businessman governor from crimson Red North Dakota. Checks all the radical right-wing boxes, never dissed Trump, can spend millions on the campaign, kisses Trumps ample ass with all the required alacrity.

So then, it will be Trump and Trump-lite, a two-fer.

IMHO, Biden must do three things:

Expose Trump as the crook, liar and loser he is.

Talk up his own accomplishments.

Talk up his plans for the future.

Oh, and Joe, DO NOT TAKE THE MEDIA OR THE TRUMP BAIT!

It’s poison.

[After debate edit: My post did not age well.]
