Two miracles bracket Christianity: The Virgin Birth and the Resurrection. I need neither to recognize Jesus's message of unconditional love of our fellow humans as the real miracle guiding us to salvation, not in mythical heaven, but here and now on earth.

Jesus's teachings were never meant to be easy, indeed, they are well-nigh impossible. They challenge us to find what is self-evident if we choose to. Jesus's truth is a simple, eternal aspiration: Love one another as we would have others love us. Only then will we find peace on earth.
