Whether matter is animate or inanimate, I see no difference in its complexity. What “motivated” chemical building blocks to cellular development is no more or less intriguing as what “motivated” hot energy to cold matter to the building blocks of molecular development. The ancient Greeks called this tendency “conatus.” It was never defined past a named given to an observation; it is still not defined today.

Science seeks to answer the question, “How?”

Philosophy seeks to answer the question, “Why?”
